Resizing Windows As previsouly mentioned, a Notebook window cannot be resized (althought the ‘Commander’ application can display Command Set files in larger windows). This functionality has not been included due to the additional memory overhead that would result. However, we realise that there may be some people who wish to increase the size of their notebooks—possibly to display large graphics with each topic. So, if you really must have a larger notebook window, and you’re prepared to use ResEdit, you can do it. To increase the window size, you will need to modify DLOG resource number 1100. You’ll also need to modify the CNTL resource number 1000 (increasing its vertical size). The Notebook window can be made as large as you want, but please ensure the relative positions of the dialog items remain the same. That is, buttons below the text area, text area to the right of the topic list, topic list at the left edge of the window. If you’re prepared to allocate enough memory to your Notebook, then you can create applications displaying large 24-bit graphics if you really want to.
